How do I generate a random US ZIP code?
Choose a supported state or city, or leave the filters open, then generate a result. The ZIP is displayed with its city and state. Use Copy ZIP to copy only the postal value into a form.
Does each ZIP code match its city and state?
Yes. Results use 261 supported city–state–ZIP examples across 21 cities. Each result keeps its selected combination together; the tool does not look up an arbitrary street address.
Can I generate a ZIP code for a specific state or city?
Yes. A state selection narrows the cities, and a city selection narrows its ZIP codes. For example, choose California and then Los Angeles to use that city's supported postal examples. Only locations in the selectors are available.
Why does a ZIP code such as 02108 start with zero?
The leading zero is part of the five-character postal value and must be retained. This tool stores ZIP codes as strings. When opening a CSV in Excel or another spreadsheet, import the ZIP column as Text so the application does not convert it into a number.
Does this tool generate ZIP+4 codes?
The current catalog supplies five-digit ZIP codes. It does not generate or look up the four-digit extension. Do not add random extra digits and assume they identify a valid delivery location.
Can I generate a list of 100 or 1,000 ZIP codes?
Open Advanced settings, choose up to 1,000 records and generate a batch. Download CSV, JSON, SQL or text. Exports contain complete address records, so retain the ZIP column if you only need postal values. ZIP codes can repeat across records.
Does the generator include every US ZIP code?
No. It uses the supported city–ZIP catalog shown in Browse supported cities. Increasing the number of generated records does not add postal codes. The tool is useful for sample datasets, not an exhaustive postal directory.
Why is a full address shown beside the random ZIP code?
City and state provide context for testing a ZIP field. You can copy only the ZIP, while the full address and other field buttons remain available for forms that also require a street, city or state.
Can I generate Canadian, UK or other international postal codes here?
This tool is for US ZIP codes. Use Address generator in the header to open Canada, the United Kingdom or another supported country or region. Those pages retain their own postal-code examples and formatting.
