Put the common US address fields in order.
For a simple address, place the recipient first, then the street line, then the locality line:
Avery Cedar 742 Juniper Avenue New York, NY 10001
Put a unit designator such as Suite 120 on its own line when space permits. Keep the city, two-letter state abbreviation, and five-digit ZIP together on the last domestic line. USPS Publication 28 is the presentation reference; its conventions do not verify a person or a delivery point.
What to avoid in test data
- Don’t portray a synthetic street line as USPS-verified.
- Don’t treat ZIP Codes as numeric values: leading zeroes must survive imports.
- Don’t use a synthetic record for account recovery, screening, or contact workflows.
